You're correct, but not an opinion, physics.

A heavier knob was the ticket for me. This 'Black Pearl' is gorgeous, and heavy. Makes shifting like cutting butter with a hot knife...

I couldn't stand the stock 'HURST' knob. You could really feel the notchyness with that...

Thanks. I couldn't stand the automatic bezel and shift knob from the factory.

The shifts are smoother (it noticeably reduced the notchiness) and more pronounced. Really gives it that ole muscle car shift feel. Reminds me exactly of what the shifter in my '66 GTO felt like (it's like riding a bike ...you never forget ) LOVE IT !!!
Nice. Reminds me of the shifter Chevy put in the '66 L79 Nova SS.

The longer lever also has slightly greater inertia for an effect similar to weighted shift knobs (helps keep the lever moving once you've got it moving).

Interesting article that simply explains the effect of lever length below and above the shifter pivot point (see post2) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...hn-walker.html

So yes adding length to the lever above the pivot point will increase throw length but it will also decrease the throw effort. Saw another article that also said adding lever length above the pivot point will reduce shift mechanics sensation thru the lever ...this must explain why my new shifter feels less notchy.

All I can say is that the throw with my new stick feels less notchy and doesn't feel longer ...plus I love the look

This is why I got a longer one

Yes, a longer one is always a pantie dropper. As long as you don't get arrested for trying to show it off it always pays to have a longer one.

Correct AKA Leverage has been used for centuries... From the old saying, "Give me enough leverage, and I can move the world" ...

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the ram pedal adjuster? I hate how far my clutch pedal comes out till it engages.

Same here. That's why I got the RAM pedal adjuster ... got tired of hitting my ear with my knee before the clutch released. See this post for what you want. Best thing since sliced bread

What's the part number on this shifter stick or how do i get it? I've gone through a couple on mine but they're all flat sticks. The classic look to this one you got really appeals to me.

Also, will it fit on a 2010-2011 style shifter?

Hurst 5389015 Competition Plus Round Replacement Shifter Stick

It will fit only & any Hurst 2 bolt lower shaft.

I'm sure it could be adapted onto just about any shifter mechanism, with the shift boot hiding whatever cutting/welding/etc. it took.
