For some reason I think this could happen for $5,500. Let's hope it isn't much more. Looks like we need to wait until they announce pricing.

As someone who has dropped 3 seconds off his time a few times w/diff cars at the same track they claim this does over the base SS I am stoked.
Did I miss any video or actual documentation for 3 second difference around big willow same driver same day?

E-diff and PDR... Way to go GM. Really excited to see the car do as they say around the track so I can throw more money at them.

Man this sounds like 44k-45k car. What GM will say "still $5k cheaper than a gt350!"

I love my 13 1LE, but it comes down to a simple thing for me... is the new car a better track car? It seems the answer is yes. I was worried they would water it down this time, but I like the 1SS only, manual only approach. I am assuming that the engineers know what they are doing and the MRC will be tuned to work for the track, even though I would be fine without it. My only concern is the price. Will it maintain the excellent value of the 5th gen? If so, I am in, just need to figure out what color... that black talks to me. If the price is too high, I may look at a used Z/28, they are nearing the $50K area and seem to be going down.

Personally I think that adding the 1LE package to the V6 model is a good idea. The V6's have sold in big numbers because of the lower price, fuel economy and insurance for the buyers. As the guy in the video with the V6 said this version could tap into a large market with the younger buyers used to smaller displacements and excellent handling. I think this could be a sleeper pleasure to drive and own. The only miss I see is that the package is not offered yet for the 2.0T. I say yet though because they may not want to announce it will be available on a car they haven't been able to get out the door yet in its standard form.

Everyone is commenting on the green, which does look pretty cool, but I think the SS version looks like a new color as well. At first I thought it was the Blue Velvet Metallic but looking at it more it looks like it is more of a purple hue then BVM.

I said grille, not hood. I'm OK with the new hood although I don't think it looks as good as the 2015.

For a little nostalgia, here is Road and Track's review of the first 1LE from 1989:

Cars, especially performance oriented ones, are moving towards a smaller upper portion/larger lower portion grille across the board because that is the way to get the coldest air at the highest pressure possible across the radiators and external coolers (if so equipped). It's not really a styling thing just science. The shift has been happening for awhile now as more vehicles are designed to be bottom breathers.

I am glad to see the 1LE only offered on manual transmission equipped cars.

How to hug your camaro
Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.

You cant please everyone. I like the direction chevy is taking by offering it only on the 1ss, it just makes more sense. plus it has the HUD which is a big plus
