Pop

Not sure if this has been discussed or if anyone else has had this with the car but...When I first fire it up...there is a pop...or backfire once the rpms drop after the initial startup? Any ideas why?

My mustangs both did that. My 07 gt was real bad about it. The camaro doesn't do it as much, resonators and all kinda muffle it I guess. I honestly don't pay it much mind anymore. It's just the backpressure hitting the fresh exhaust gases coming out the headers, making a pop when they meet. At least that's how it was explained to me.

I get that every now and then, but not always. I've been told that it's normal, and it sounds cool.

My car doesn't do it on initial start, but if I start her back up after a drive she will pop. I find it an inviting sound. Then again, with the THR pipes, I backfire just about any time I get off the gas. I really like it.

Its completely normal for large displacement motors. I infact LOVE that sound. It gets even sweeter with a CAI and exhaust!

I guess this decel popping happens on the L99 too, just not as much? I've noticed that if I accelerate quickly (like when I turn off my street onto the main road) and then let off the gas after a second or two, I'll get some pops.

Yep my L99 does it alot with an intake and stainless works Retro chambered exhaust. I love it. I drive using the tap shift so I can down shift and use the engine braking to decelerate when coming to a stop. Love the sound.

After putting the new exhaust on my six, I notice it every once in a while, actually.

I kinda like how it sounds
