Cell phone recorder

So I'm going to take some videos of how I pull a 3.6 0-60 to hopefully help other people do the same and have a question. My original and current plan is to strap my cell to my steering wheel and hopefully video both the tach and speedo but I came up with a hopefully more effective idea. Tonight I am suppose to be getting my obd2 reader and torque app and was wondering if there is anyway to do a video screen capture on a cell phone.(andriod galaxy)
You know how a cell can do a screen capture? Is there anyway to get it to capture a video of the screen so I can post a video of the app read outs? I don't have the app yet but I assume it displays things like throttle position which I feel will help out more than just a video of the tach.
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, just trying to help out the best I can.
Going to try and get a 1/8th video too.

Not that I am aware of on the Galaxy. Tape your phone to the steering wheel and post the vid.

Tape doesn't seem to work for me because of the steering wheel being curved and rounded while the cell is straight and flat.
Just tried this, but it moves around too much when I hit the gas.

This looks good but it is too expensive. I'm surprisingly cheap for a guy with a 45k car :/

Try the passenger headrest? Good wide angle will get out the window as well as the dash with good detail.

I've only used the Torque app to look at fault codes and realtime info. It does have a graphing function. I haven't used it but maybe this is something that may help you. You set the number of datapoints to record, the interval, and which sensors to record, such as elapsed time for a number of speed ranges, engine sensors or temps, gauge settings, etc. There's probably over a hundred selections. Hopefully there is something here you can use.

I think you're going to need more than one camera recording. We'll need to see your clutch, shift and tac (or hud hockey stick) at the same time. I've seen some good ones on youtube where you could see the hand and foot action simultaneously. Do a search and try to replicate that angle before you buy or make a mount.

Too bad you're not closer. I've got at least 2 old iPhones laying around. Is there anyone else who's phone you could borrow?
