He may have been saying that because, even thought there may not be any visible tire wear, they most likely have at least 2/32s of wear off of them, almost impossible to go 9000 miles with no wear on the tires. (I worked at Goodyear for 20+ years and never seen a tire with 10000 miles that DIDNT have at least 2/32s of wear on them) just saying........
