No TPMS on after market wheels?

Is the warning light the only think that happens if you run aftermarket wheels/tires without TPMS's or does something worse happen with the computer?

Why not put the TPMS sensors in the new wheels and sync them with the car? That's what I did with my winter wheel/tire setup. Works great.

+1

You can usually get a good set from eBay for $70-100.

The other thing you lose is PSI monitoring which is a nice feature...not to mention the obvious knowledge if a tire is flat.

You can get the sensors for cheap enough that it is worth getting them even for your winter wheels.

Have your dealer get 4 of these from their GM ADI (GM accessories distributor installer).

19333062. They are $40 each.

I've gotten them from my dealer no issues.

If you don't take the sensors out of your wheels that are on the car now, you'll have to buy new sensors. And then get them Id'd at Chevy dealership/shop, or by the $70 gadget on Amazon that will re-identify your wheels.

Many tire stores sell replacement TPMS sensors. They usually last about six to eight years and don't have a replaceable battery.

So I can pull them out of my stocks and replace them in the after market ones? Is it a hard process?
