Thumbs down What's Wrong With My Car? (Slow Starts/Dies)[FIXED]

EDIT: FIXED BY REPLACING STARTER

Preface: This only happens on warm starts for example when I stop at a gas station and then start it back up. Never on a cold start.

2011 Camaro 2SS LS3

Scenario 1: I turn the key and it's a slow start like it's a long crank then it starts. This happened almost every warm start.

Scenario 2: I turn the key and it's an even slower start like its about to die then it starts. When it starts the tach doesn't work on HUD or dash and the idle is a little weird and it drives different like it has a real sloppy tune. Also louder more crackle/pops. Says service stabilitrac no CEL & traction lights on (see picture). This doesn't happen that much.

Scenario 3: I turn key and long crank but doesn't start and dies. This happens less than scenario 3. I have video if that would help.

The last time it didn't start I waited a few minutes then it started. I've never been stranded but this is sketchy what if I had to leave as an emergency and it won't start this needs to be fixed. It's not the battery that's pretty new.

After some research I'm assuming it needs a new starter some people said the stock one overheats easily. So I'm hoping its nothing worst. What do you guys think?

Edits: Mods are dyno tune, CAI, PTB, 1/78 Longtube Headers w/high-flow cats etc..
Voltage is good while running
And on cold starts when I twist and let go it cranks by itself but warm starts if I try to do that it just instantly stops.

You might be on the right track with starter, that's what it sounds like to me and where'd I'd start ... good luck solving the issue

I would also start to suspect fueling if it only happens on warm starts

Do you have LEDs, spliced wires, other non-OEM add ons? Improper wiring, grounding can possibly cause this as well.

Mine had this exact problem earlier this year. Started fine on cold starts, but on warm starts it turned over slow and produced a stabilitrac service light when it started up. It did all this till it finally left me stranded at a gas station after spending 30minutes in stop & go traffic. Got a new battery and now no issues.

Battery is pretty new. And why do you suspect fueling issue? No spliced wires.

first thing is to have the battery load tested, then check all your grounds and connection is nothing is loose,-at the battery and check also on starter.
if all checks ok then you can suspect the starter... next time you start it check your voltage gauge if it drops a lot when cranking if it falls below 10 volts it's not good.. a full battery is 12.3 to 12.8 volts.should not drop that much when cranking.
if battery is low--check if the alternator charges it can have some good voltage but if no amps then the battery has no reserve -amperage-to crank the engine.

when i picked up my SS,1st day from dealer it was slow to start like it's pulling big amps.
apparently that's normal but i don't like it.

my old ls1 was better on cranking. started right away. the ls3 are hard to start they don't fire up on the first turn, needs some cranking to get going..

Good luck

Your battery has time to charge up when sitting. Running the car drains it so it's harder to start.
Battery, Alternator, cables, or an accessory draining your system.

If your battery is more than 3 or 4 years old, it's time to replace it anyway, but you need to have your charging system checked and make sure it's putting out 14 volts.

Battery first.

Let the key sit in the on position for 5-10 seconds before you start it. Mine will hunt and die too here and there if I don't let the fuel pump prime the lines.

The Service Stabilitrac message is a sign of low battery voltage during cranking.

Time for a new battery.

Fuel pressure can drop, and the car is commanding less on a warm start. Cold starts the car maxes out and just dumps a ton of fuel until the sensors warm up and take over.

But I do agree with everyone else to check electrical first and foremost.

If you didn't put that newer battery in I would check to make sure the connections are tight.
