I think the engine changes (if any) are unfortunately due to the new 35.5mpg for 2016
http://www.epa.gov/otaq/climate/regu.../420f10014.htm

I also read that in 2025 that its changing to 45mpg or 54mpg.

This is to avoid the gas guzzler tax I think.

Get your V8's now....

I remember that initially GM was going to offer a turbo 4cyl on the current 5th gen but it never was produced. Either way I am safe because I already have one with the V8 and don't have this as my gas saver.

I think all of that info is what was expected, EPA restrictions get worse every year, good to hear about the Z28. And I would assume the next generation V8 to have hp gains in that area that the article stated

If I had a nickel for every rumor of future cars which turned out to be true, I'd be broke.

I seriously LOL'd at the 47 MPG claim of a turbo 4 that pumps out 300 hp. Seriously LOL'd

Here's a relevant comment. When's GM true insiders going to give us any clue to facelift changes to the Gen5 or next Z/28?

When it's unveiled at NAIAS (assumption being made that it's unveiled at NAIAS and not at another auto show)

That leads me to my 2nd thought. 35mpg city and 45 highway on a turbo 4?????? No way will I believe it until I see it. There is no such thing as a turbo 4 with 300+ HP that can get close 40 combined mpg. If GM really can pull this off (and I don't think anyone can pull it off right now) well then props to them and I see why they'd offer a turbo 4 with those kinds of numbers. Holy geez...

I don't see it ether, our 300hp Sky Redline just barely breaks the 20mpg city and maybe 27mpg on the highway.
