Cost of rear axel fluid change and synthetic oil change

Hey guys going to take the 1SS to the dealer on Monday. I am going for the rear diff fluid change and oil change.

Does anyone know the approximate cost of these services. For the oil change I plan on up grading to mobile one. I know I can get the oil change locally for around 30 dollars if I supply the oil which is around 50. Kind of apprehensive about letting a non chevy technician work on the car. Thanks in advanced.

Is this your first one? If so the first two should be free from GM

Rear diff I think ran me 70 bucks.

I was quoted about $175 for rear diff fluid change by my dealer.

Probably round up to an hour labor. Rip off IMO.

A member on here made a utube video on how to change the rear diff. Looks really easy, and I just bought the pump he used at harbor freight for $6. I'd rather try it myself than let the dealer rob me and make me nervous they are going to break something.
Just did my oil a week or two ago, super easy. If you do it yourself I'd just keep the reciepts and make a log of when you did it.
I just don't trust the dealer for...well anything unless it's absolutely necessary and the prices you guys got quoted is just highway robbery.

Wow, what a rip off price for the differential fluid change. It is like a 10 minutes job to get that change (I am not a mechanic at all).

All you need is two of these, $50 total. Don't know how they got $79 for parts only.

My dealer tried to charge 150 for a diff fluid change. Ridiculous considering the car was already up in the air for the trans line recall.

There's a service bulletin for this. Just tell them it's making noise. You shouldn't have to pay.

Thank you for the response. My dealer quoted my 135 for the rear fluid change. I did get that charge waved due to the "groan." I also had a free oil change. My dealer charged 50 to upgrade to 10.5 quarts of mobile one. Thank you for everyones responses.
