Daytime running lights (DIY or dealer)

Hello everyone!
So Ive been noticing lately my driver side DRL doesnt turn on every once in a while. It works 90% of the time but drives me crazy seeing the car with only one DRL lol.

Is this something you guys replaced yourselves or should I go to the dealer? How difficult is it to fix? I really try to keep my dealer visits to a minimum like most of you, I hate leaving my car with strangers.

Your car is still under warranty. So long as it is you should take it to the dealer. Even if it's a 10 cent fix you can do yourself, any issues should be documented to GM.

Ditto!

By taking it to the dealer and having it documented, it not only gets your issue fixed, but it also establishes a pattern; which can help the rest of us.

Update 1: they replaced the DRL
One week later the light went completely out.
Update 2: Theyre replacing the whole headlight and components. Will update tomorrow once I get the car.

As a biomed electronics technician, I just have to say this is unacceptable troubleshooting. Don't the dealers have schematics and voltmeters? They're shot gunning it which costs GM money in parts which makes everything more expensive..... here just throw parts at it till it works...... find the cause of the problem before replacing a single part!

Lol Totally agree, I was thinking the same thing. Wheres the troubleshooting and isolating the issue to the faulty part. Dropped off the car at 9am got a call at 10am they decided to replace everything lol....I guess they are taking a modular approach on these cars. Made me think if I wasnt under warranty this would be a nasty serious bill....because of a simple light!

With proper troubleshooting it wouldn't.

And I'd have told them that flat out to their face too.
