That makes no sense, the Shaft of the Supercharger is external! Nothing can get into the motor!!

Extended Warranty covers Supercharger for up to 10 years or 120K miles. I just got a copy of the GM paperwork when I bought my 2013 ZL1. It currently has 10k miles. I will wait until I hear it starting to make a noise or the 10 year mark. It will never hit 20k while I own it let alone 120K!

It's been my daily driver since I got it in 2012. Almost 52k miles, as mentioned. Proper maintenance has always been done, but not sure how that would have an effect on this issue.

I'll be taking it in next week. It's had the rattle/marble noise since it was new.. never really loud, but definitely noticeable. Just started it up the other day, and it sounded like this!

When you say updated supercharger what do you mean exactly? That has a updated isolator which I'm hearing isn't even solid.

I am referring to the entire supercharger case, impellers, bearings, seals, pulley, snout and isolator complete as a new unit. The cooling brick unit sits on top of the supercharger was reused. I was shown the original supercharger, as it had to be sent back to GM. There was considerable play at the pulley on the snout. This is typical of the spring loaded isolators used on the original superchargers. The replacement supercharger was also rattling right away. I asked that the rattling be addressed and was told that since I already had a replacement supercharger, I am only eligible for a snout replacement. Took it back and had only a new snout and isolator installed. It too was rattling right away. I asked to see the isolator from the replacement supercharger. It was spring loaded. I suspect so is the one that they installed with the subsequent snout replacement. My car is rattling worse than ever. So, yes, I would suspect that the not all replacement superchargers/ replacement snouts are fitted with a solid isolator. Worse yet, the zone rep from GM Canada indicated that there is nothing more that he was willing to authorize to be done to address the rattling. Very frustrating!

I had my 2013 done about 6 months ago at 9k. Dealer put a complete unit on it. No more noise. I dropped my car off in the morning and had it back by the end of the day.

Had the rattle for several thousand miles holding out for the permanent iteration.

Got the car back yesterday.. no more noise and runs great! They ended up installing a new supercharger. I can definitely tell a difference in the sound of the engine, no more faint knocking/rattling!

I had mine fixed last week too. Dealership installed another new supercharger. The car is finally fix! No rattle, or any other noise.

The dealer that did mine did a great job with one exception. They didn't use the proper procedure when refilling the heat exchanger coolant. My IAT temps were running very high. I topped it off today. We'll put some road time in tomorrow to see how they look with the additional coolant.
