GM racing did really well at the 12 hours of Sebring this year, Corvette Daytona Prototype came in 1-2-3 over all. The Prototype challenge winner was powered by an LS3, and the C7R won in its class.

On related Camaro news GM showed off the new 3.0L TT engine 400/400 engine (not going in the Camaro) and the LGX 335BHP 3.6L engine which is going in the 2016 Camaro. 335BHP and 284ft-lbs of torque is a pretty impressive figure for a V-6 Camaro. Considering that a 1998 SS Camaro was rated at 320BHP (though produced more torque) this isn't a bad showing. Just need to see what the weight is for the Gen 6 Camaro.

So, where would that leave a turbo 4?

I believe I remember it said that the turbo 4 unlike the Mustang will be the base engine in the Camaro (going up against the 3.7L Mustang). Currently the 2.0T engine at GM produces 272BHP and 295ft-lbs of torque, though I expect the new turbo I-4 will make more then 272BHP. The question comes will it make what the 3.7L Mustang makes and does it need to make as much?. Will someone who doesn't like I-4 engines pick the Mustang over the Camaro because they get the V-6 at no extra charge?. On the flip side if you want more then just the basic options on the Mustang you have to go with the 2.3 ecoboost engine. Will the Camaro have all of the options on the turbo I-4 model? will someone who wants a V-6 and fully loaded opt for the Camaro over the Mustang?.

I sincerely hope they know what they're doing. Hopefully, there's an 8-speed automatic across the board, or that the V8 is inexpensive to purchase and operate.
