My Conti ExtremeContact DWSs are holding up very well in this NY snow. Plowed but still covered and packed streets aren't a problem...car only kicked out from me once or twice over the past two days, and I was quickly able to regain control...loved it when last night the MyLink temp was registering a crisp -1.

Something I discovered but have never read about before. Blowing snow accumulated a bit in my wheels, which resulted in unexpected vibrations on the highway once I reached around 50mph. I realized the cause right away. The snow that had accumulated inside the rims/wheels was causing an imbalance.

When I later went to clear the snow out, I was surprised just how much was packed on there....if you drive after a snowstorm, check your wheels and clear out any snow.

Looks a little "fuzzy" behind you. Haha, in the south we get speeding tickets all year long. Not just from late spring to fall like our northern brethren.

Blessed are those who live in year round warm climes.

36HR forecast for Chicago: 8-12" snow, followed by -18' air temp with
-40' wind chill! Yikes!

Half you guys are nuts. You don't understand tires. Camaros that come with summer tires are NOT TO BE DRIVEN IN SNOW OR COLD WEATHER.

Tire designers peg 45 degrees F as the break point. Summers lose flexibility below that temp and winters wear exceptionally fast above it. If you are driving on summers in zero degrees, you risk compound fracture and failure. if you drive with summers in snow or cold, you are guilty of negligence. If you can afford a Camaro, you can afford a second set of wheels and tires for winter. What are you going to tell plaintiff's lawyers when you wipe out their client because you KNEW you were driving on tires not suited for the weather?

Wake up.

Since my Camaro is my daily driver, I have no choice but to drive him in the snow. Just got 6.5" of snow here in Pennsylvania. Thankfully I only live 3 miles from work and my boss is super cool about letting me work from home if I can't make it in. I live on top of a mountain, so I have few problems getting to work - it's going back home. The worst is when I get behind someone and they're driving incredibly slow. Once I lose momentum, it's impossible to move, I lose traction and just drift backward until I can get speed. How many days until summer????

Yesterday it snowed about 2-3 inches. The 1LE took the day off. Drove the wifes Tahoe to work. I do drive it when is dry out and at least 20 degrees though. I enjoy driving it too much to park it all winter.

Our cars sit in the backyard till its nice out. Of course it snowed before we got the covers on.. Every now and then we get a few nice days recently and we're back out. Wife's car is the SS, mine is the SRT8. Our "Beater" car is a 1998 Ford Escort we inherited.

Wide awake! Spent some time in the north during my 30 years in the Air Force and decided that I was tired of snow and cold. Loving it in San Antonio where it hasn't snowed in several years and 25 is cold. Forget about the northerners! In my mind it is nuts to live there, but only in my mind! Would never call you nuts for making that choice!

Wide awake and smart for living where I don't need a set of winter tires!

My baby is the 6 cylinder Camaro and I drive it in the winter. However with the recent developments in the city of Chicago where it has snowed for 3 days straight It has sat on the parking lot acquiring all the snow it can. My mom has been dropping me off ond my boss is so cool that he picks me up every morning for us to go to work.

he said "I know what it's like to be single have a nice car and not be able to drive it in the winter when it snows like this! Now I have an SUV and a minivan and 2 young children, I cannot have a nice car but I can help you out!" LOL
