Current oil change prices for SS owners?
I got my oil changed today for the first time. The DIC still said I had 40% life left, but since I'm the second owner, I didn't know what kind of junk oil was in there, so I took it in for an oil change and for a multi-point inspection. Thankfully, everything is "like new", which is great to hear.
When I called the dealer to ask how much an oil change was for an SS, the guy said it was $81, and he quoted the right amount and the right kind of oil [Mobil1 synthetic]. But when I got rang up, it was only about $70. I got kind of nervous that they might not have put the right amount or kind of oil in there, so I emailed them and he said he asked the mechanic and he assured me the oil change was right, but that he got the price wrong himself. So I just thought I'd check on here to see what you guys are currently paying for oil changes. Does around $70 sound about right for my SS? Thanks! |

I change my own oil. I buy 8 quarts and an oil filter. Costs me on average about $50 to change it.

Adam, the price you paid for having a dealer was a STEAL! I have a V6, so there is less oil to change or pit back in, and the price of an oil change at my dealer is $85, which is why I change my own ever since the first one.

Sweet deal. Do you know if they use Mobil 1 or the Dexos synthetic blend?
I got a maintenance program when I bought my 2012 and thought at the time all V8's had Mobil 1. So my deal states they use what came from the factory - Dexos. Which I know is fine, but I think a full synthetic is better than a blend. |
