Why Camaros and garages don't get along

Just did this today . How much do y'all think this is going to cost me to get fixed? Thanks for any advice/help.

Wow, this is such a useful post. I'm sure the OP is mad enough at himself, we all have our moments no need to make it worse.

Depends on the body shop and what goes into fixing it, really only a body shop will give you a good quote, and I'm no expert so I won't even try. Good luck and I'm sorry to see this happen, but it does happen.

Dont feel bad my friend i to park my car in the garage and within three months i had a beach chair fall on it, i guess the exhaust on start up eventually vibrated it off the wall, that was last fall then last week the same damn chair which was resting up against the wall decided to be lazy and fall over and scratch the rear fascia!!! luckly my boy is in the detail business so he can get that out, needless to say that chair is in the county landfill in a few pieces

Uncalled for. Don't be a dikc... karma, ever hear of it? OP is seeking constructive advice not destructive ridicule.

If you're not ready to have it professionally fixed right away maybe buff out the scuff marks first... rubbing compound will help. One thing I do recommend is to bring it to a legit/reputed bodyshop, not a fly-by-day onsite bodyman like those in Craigslist... a nice new Camaro isn't worth it IMO since there are inexperienced folks and/or may not have the proper materials and exact colors onhand to match.

Is that paint from the garage, or scratches through the clear coat? If it is paint from the garage see if you can remove it, buff it up and touch up that chip if you can live with that. I had a scratch in my motorcycle and I was able to buy a touch up paint pen from Yamaha and clean it up pretty good. Paint matched perfect and it was only about 20 bucks if I recall correctly You couldn't tell unless you looked really close. Not sure if GM has something similar or not.

If you want it perfect look around for a body shop with a good rep, but that is going to cost you more.

Your cost will be same amount as your insurance deductible.

Sorry about the car that sucks. :( that's why I want a three car garage.

No apostrophe in "Camaros"

Damn dude, sucks about the car. Did something similar myself about 10 days after purchase. I'm much more careful parking her since then. Good luck.

I caught the passenger side mirror last year on the door pulling in the garage. Lucky for me it was just scuffed and a clay bar removed the mark. I am much more careful now.

what REALLY SUCKS is that it hit 2 panels if I see it right.

I had a hit and run in a parkin lot and it was worse than that but on one panel. mine was $900. Like I said though, mine was MUCH worse than that. that looks like a paint job with a minor fix of the metal. maybe uve got a friend or something that knows a guy or that has a shop or something?

good luck man
