I got a chance to see a 2018 GT A10 at the track last night .. It had a cold air intake on it so I asked the guy who tuned it and it was the same local tuner I use .. So E85 tune with a cold air intake ..I saw 3 runs , one run he spun and ran a 8.30 in the 1/8 mile , one run was a 7.90 ..His best run of the night was a 7.74 @ 93 MPH .. The car dead hooked and sounded great .. The DA was 1600 feet ( I checked ) .. He told me his best 1/4 mile pass was a 12 flat .. Well call me not all that impressed, my 100% stock 1SS A8 at the same track with a DA of 1900 feet ( week before his runs) went 7.79 @ 91 and change on the MPH .. Yes he was a bit faster and a bit more MPH but I have no cold air intake and no E85 custom tune ..

I can say for sure it's faster than my 2015 Mustang A6 with a 93 pump gas Lund tune and cold air intake , All I could ever get out of that set up was a 8.20 @ 87 MPH ..

Camaro has been faster with bolt ons so far.

The 1/8 mile is all lt1 anyway. Gap would grow a bit if he ran you the full 1/4. With you on E85 you would be faster throughout in this case

But yeah the cars are too close to call NA stock and bolt on. Don’t take them lightly but they will not be convincingly faster than an ss stock or modded. Will come down to the mods, small details and driver. They tend to trap a bit more apples to apples but the 6gen can 60 harder and will 1/8 better

As a fun side point...and not super relevant because it's only a crate motor..

Mopar just unveiled the "Elephant" crate motor, or some nicknaming "Hellelephant.."

Supercharged 426..

1,000 HP/950 TQ.

Lets not get carried away here. The driver is slow for those mods, this not an indication of what is possible with the mods he has in place. Bone stock GTs are running 12:00s with a few in the 11s, competent drivers. DR only cars are well into the 11s. There are example after example of cars with similar mods to his running much faster.

And that is if you take people's word at face value. I think we've heard enough examples of people not disclosing mods. And several of you Mustang guys have defended such actions. And the funny thing is that I never see these GTs that are well into the 11s or running 12 flat. For all we really know these guys are hiding mods.

Above is no different than some of the Hero times posted in this forum right? Published reviews of the A8 SS seem to settle in the 12:30s to 12:50s yet we have many in here claiming 11s 100% stock .

For the A10 GT the published reviews are in the very low 12s and high 11s, its much easier to believe owners running 11s based on these reviewed results.

You're funny! Real SSes average 12.1 @ 115.0 and you know it. The faster ones are high 11s or 12 even.

SS averages from the Camaro6 fast list of 30 different cars. 30 different days. 30 different drivers.

1 to 5
11.98 @ 118.9
1 to 10
12.02 @ 116.3
1 to 15
12.05 @ 115.6
1 to 20
12.08 @ 115.4
1 to 25
12.10 @115.1
1 to 30
12.13 @ 115.0

Omit the top five and average 6 to 20 = 12.11 @ 114.6, 6 to 25 = 12.13 @114.4.

Looks pretty consistent. Hell. My A8 ran 12.3 on its very first pass and I'm a crappy driver.

Please show me a published review any review in which a SS has been tested anywhere near very low 12s or 11s. Its been 3+ years there are no excuses.

The GT has no issues with multiple published reviews. Here is just one for you.

Track-Tested, Driver-Approved
It took only three runs to net the best time of 3.9 seconds to 60 mph and the quarter-mile in 11.9 seconds at 119 mph. And the only adjustment was with my right foot. With no traction issue on the first two runs, run No. 3 was full bore, and the car took it like a champ.

Just stop Bro. It's not the Camaro's fault... The Magazines just never tested it in as good air, at as good a track or with as good a driver as they tested the Mustang.

Air and track are everything for good ETs ..The GT I saw last week was modded with a E85 tune , he was dead hooking most every run on his cup tires and like I said his best was 7.74 @ 93 ... His own words was it ran a 12.00 flat at our 1/4 mile track ..I ran mine sat night and ran a new best for me at 7.75 @ 91.95 and mine is 100% stock , NO tune , No E85 , No cold air intake .. Tonight 2 more new 2018 GT A10s showed up at the track and the best they could muster was 8.10s ..They claimed they were 100% stock and I believe them .. I saw first hand a friend of mine in a 2017 2SS bring his car to our 1/4 mile and run .. His car only had around 200 miles on it and it was his first time to the track with his new car .. He busted off a 11.90s that night in good air ..He later in the year run a 11.88 .. So what do we know ? Well we know in good air on a good track 100% stock these cars will and can run 11.80s with a good driver .. I could careless what some magazine jockey has to say about the Mustang Vs the Camaro in a drag race ..

I have to say, things are really looking great when both V8 cars from Ford and Chevy are breaking into the 11's. Being so close makes them more of a driver's race which is good for business too.

I can't fault either camp for making very high performing cars!

Too bad all the fast Mustangs can be seen only on video. It seems like everytime someone from here goes to the track and sees them they're doing mid 12s.
