Here's my invoice - good deal or no?
I hate to start a separate thread but I wanna get this decision over with ASAP because it's killing me, so I figured it'd get more attention this way.
Below is a picture of my invoice. This is for a 2LT/RS with moonroof, performance exhaust, interior lighting, navigation. Completely loaded, but a 2016 which is why I'm allegedly getting a bargain. Keep in mind they are making the last 2 payments on my current least which are $248 each. I gave a $500 deposit and apparently owe another $1700 for "taxes". I'm getting taxed before the discount as well...does that seem right? Okay, here is my invoice. Can someone tell me if I'm being ripped off? Keep in mind they are making my last 2 payments on my current lease which are $248 each. Lol |

Does it matter lol ? We all get screwed even if we think we're getting a good deal. Car dealers are like a casino , they never ever loose out on a deal regardless of what we think

I think the rebate is what makes it a great deal. It's almost impossible to get a 2LT loaded like that without the rebate for the same price. Plus it looks like they discounted the car a bit even before applying the rebate. Good luck, hope it works out!
EDIT: I did some reading, and yes in New York State we do get taxed before the rebate gets applied. So no foul play there.

15% discount which is about the going rate on 2016 Camaros these days. Looks OK to me. The taxes suck but what are you going to do?

Walk, you can get a better deal somewhere else. That's v8 money for a v6 with too many tchotchkies, and a ridiculous balloon payment.

I know some states do not tax the rebate but 2/3 of them do tax it. In those states you are taxed then the rebate is taken off the car. A quick google search and you can find out more information on it. My discount from the dealer was not taxed but my rebate from GM was taxed.

I can't believe you guys have to pay the tax on the full amount. What a huge ripoff. Here the tax comes off the actual amount you are paying for the car after all rebates and incentives. You are paying tax on money that never really existed or changed hands. Got to love governments. They are the biggest crooks on earth. Other than that is looks fine.
I however would not sign up for that ballon loan unless you know for sure you are keeping the car to term and that you will have the 15,000 grand to pony up just incase a trade deal doesn't work out. Also make sure you get gap insurance. With that little amount down and a ballon loan you will be about 5,000 grand upside down the day you take it off the lot. |

Where are the rebates from?
Are the rebates deducted from full msrp? If they are GM rebates the dealer is still selling you the car for full msrp, they get all their cake. They Should still be able to knock off some from their end. A tiny bit over 16% off. If it is the exact car you want, I think the deal is good.....and they're helping you get you out of your old car. ...but... For maybe 3-4 grand more you could find a 2SS....
