You are not driving "spirited" enough, if you are getting 20.

In my C6 (with LS2), I get 7 mpg on track.

Everything is a factor: temperature, altitude, speed limits, traffic sizes, distance between traffic lights, and most importantly, driving style.

Yeah I know. I I'll get some more scientific info over my next few tanks

It's there so GM can hit a certain mpg for the EPA. I have no use for it.

I'll be thrilled if I can stay around 22-23 mpg, which I think is realistic, considering about 2/3 of my driving is highway.

You can do the same in 5th Gen so prob the same in the 6th

I took this last night shortly after driving on the beltway for 20 miles around 70mph. Not too shabby!

Very good getting 29, even for a short run. I got in an SS automatic at the dealer on Tuesday and it had 63 miles on the odometer and the average fuel economy was 9.1. I guess several people had taken it out for a little "test drive". I enjoyed a quick run a few miles down the freeway and back. Rides good even with the standard suspension but the standard dual exhaust was too quiet, although noticeable.

You can't just push the mpg reset button and say that's what you mileage is. Reset it when you fuel up and don't touch it again until you've gone a few hundred miles. I doubt you'll see 28 mpgs in a SS.
