Realistic Gas Mileage?

For all you lucky ass 2016 camaro ss owners, what is the realistic gas mileage like on them? What numbers are you pulling? How much does it take to fill er up? Just curious about the validity of the reviews I have read on the car.

Thanks guys

I have 400 miles on my 2SS and in the city I am getting 12 mpg. The skip-shift actually causes me to use more gas because to avoid being forced into 4th gear I just wait to shift until 22mph or so in 1st gear which clearly use a lot of gas. If you shift between 15-20mph in 1st gear you are forced to 4th. It sucks and it's annoying but pretty easy to avoid.....shift at 21/22mph. Driving up the Rockies from Denver to Idaho Springs on I-70 I got about 23 mpg. Going back down the hill I got 38mpg in 6th at 65mph.

Driving on the highway with the A8, I've been getting 28-35mpg when it enters V4 mode! Going 50, it was showing in the low 40's occasionally! It's crazy. I don't care if it's only using four cylinders if I get that kind of mileage

Not that I have a Camaro...but gas is $1.78 here in Indianapolis. I'm loving it, but I bet you Camaro SS owners are loving it even more. Lol

Not sure about the 6th gen but in the 4th gen, you could just briefly have the shifter pop into neutral and then go into 2nd instead of 4th. After a few times it just became second nature and I didn't even notice I was doing it. This was of course before I got s CAGS eliminator.

Hopefully someone will come up with a Cags eliminator before next April!

The display isn't the best to determine mpg. It's when you refill the tank and divide X miles by Y gallons to get the real mileage.

you buy a 6 speed to use 6 gears not 3. just put on a skip shift eliminator kit and it solves the problem.

So true. The MPG posts here on camaro5 have the biggest BS Artists. Some of them
just make you laugh. Re 5th gen SS Camaros getting 27-28 on the highway.
If nothing else they are entertaining.
