Injector Size 600-650rwhp E85 N/A 416ci
I am looking to get my stock injectors oversized for my build and I was wondering if anyone can help recommend a specific size?
Short list of details on the build.. - 2011 SS - Forged Internals N/A 416ci engine - Ported Heads - DSX Flex Fuel Kit - Aftermarket Cam - Upgraded Valvetrain - Intake - Exhaust At the end of the day I have been leaning towards 65lb injector sizing to achieve reliable flow for the ballpark of 600rwhp on pump gas and a little north of that with E85. From what I understand E85 puts more duty cycle on the injectors so I am just wondering if 65lb will be enough? Thanks for your input. |

Get big injectors. You'll probably want bigger power soon enough. ID1300s

I maxed out a set of 850cc running e85 at 640whp on a turbo car slightly richer afr than a n/a car so could make more. Zl1 pump and bap, was loosing fuel pressure
65lbs won't cut it unless you got twin pumps

Also keep in mind the stock SS fuel pump is going to have a hard time keeping up running on e85 regardless injector size

I don't think you can use a stock pump to run E85 , can you? Didn't think it was compatible.

For a first post your pushing it....LOL you may want to look up what others have accomplished with N/A power and consider the money that does cost to go into it like 1000 hp axles, better trailing and toes and bushings and that 13 to 1 you will have to run with that .750 lift cam and fly cut pistons..... or go for the low 500s which has been done on here by others without a massive commitment to $$$$
https://www.facebook.com/sagperformanceengines/ Jerry did my short block a 428 for N/A not a 416 which would be a little better for boost, I only spent about 5 grand for a rotating assembly in a new clearanced ls3 block shipped ; no pan no pump etc...... correct seals, best pistons made, forged etc.... Maybe you should talk to him in Indiana close to the blocks...

Yes. Stock pump will need replaced. For some reason I thought you listed a pump swap.

I thought I had listed a pump swap as well. I will be going to a ZL1 pump with the ADM high performance fuel pump control module. Also, I am hoping to oversize my current injectors. Not buy ID850's.. ETC.. If possible. I won't be needing to increase size any further because I have a standalone fuel system for my direct port nitrous. I am looking for the most N/A power possible. Then I'll spray to the extra power I want when needed. My car is built to be an all around car. But, geared more towards road track racing and reliability. I am going N/A because I do road trips with my car. In reference to upgrading suspension.. I have every upgrade BMR offers and BC racing Coilovers. Axles.. I have G-Force 1500hp outlaw axles with a 1 piece driveshaft. I have upgraded the tail shaft bearing support for this year. Next year I plan on getting a fully built RPM transmission. But, this year I have run out of funds for that piece. I am constantly on the forums and it has been hard to find anything on N/A E85 since it does not net much gain. I just have the DSX flex fuel unit and would like to achieve as much over 600rwhp N/A as I can. I have seen quite a few builds similar to mine with those numbers and figure the E85 can give me the extra bump if needed. Thank you for the people that have posted some references. I appreciate it and I will look through them to see what I can come up with. |
