dealer demo
Would you buy an SS Camaro that was dealer demo with 6500 miles on odometer. Found a 2016 equipped like I want and then found out dealer was driving the car.

Depends on the price. Mine was a demo, it had 2700 miles on it. Great price, already broken in, equipped just exactly the way I wanted.

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe when purchasing a dealer demo you still get the 3 yr/ 36k mile warranty (or in your case 42500 mile). So depending on how long you plan on keeping the vehicle should play a factor in your decision. For me, 6500 miles are a lot of miles to trust someone with my car. But if you're comfortable with it and get a good price have at it. If your not saving much $$ I wouldn't risk it.

I better be 20-25% off the already 10% off sticker if it's a '16, and still have a full 3/36 warranty. It's a used car!
It's almost guaranteed that it wasn't broken in properly before doing an unknown amount of full throttle pulls. 99% chance the brakes weren't broken in properly either. If you know what you're getting into though a car with that many miles, if it was going to have problems, should have had them by now. Spend some time here and look at the common stuff. NPP rattle, whistling door/mirror, weird electronic issues etc...

Well, I beat the living crap out of my dealers demo for 24 hours, so I wouldn't buy a demo lol...
Funny thing was my dealer TOLD me to "have fun and drive the car like I stole it". |

Depends on the history which will be near impossible to ascertain.
If it is a car that was driven by the sales manager since day one, then yes. No problem. If it was a car used for test drives/loaner. No way. |

I personally wouldn't because I don't like the idea of salesmen/managers daily driving a car I'm buying, you don't know how it was driven. But that's just me- if it works out financially to be a better bargain for you, then it could be worth it!

I've known car salesman. They treat 'em like rental cars. I would never buy one.

you absolutely can ascertain how it's been driven!
Most dealers now have policies in place that if an employee beats a car he gets in trouble. It is super simple to hook up the service computers in these cars and read what RPMs have been spun up, overspeeds from shifting and other things. The ECU records at all.

No way, I backed out of a deal when I found the car had 400 miles on it. You never know what they did to the car.

I didn't know they could review that much history. I had the impression it only had enough data stored to compute avg. mpg. Thanks I guess ask to see the data logger history and if they won't show it to you, live in person, you know to walk.

Nope I wouldn't buy one unless discounted by at least 20%. I could care less about the so called "policies" dealers have It doesn't mean they're following them. Then theres all these guys on Youtube doing these so called reviews on these dealer cars and stepping into the gas before its 1500 mile break in. Do you think if any of these "used" cars has engine problems due to this, the dealership or GM is gonna show any kind of compassion and pay for any repairs for you?
