Where do you park your Camaro?
There might be a thread on this already (I looked briefly and didn't find anything), but I was just hoping to hear different opinions regarding the great parking dilemma from other Camaro owners. Here I am just talking about normal open parking lots, not garages or parallel parking on streets. 2 options:
1) Park all the way in the "back 40" where there are no other cars. Advantage - avoid hit and run situations or careless idiots slamming their doors into your door/quarter panel. Disadvantage - you become an easy target for the twisted, inhumane, poor excuses for human beings looking to vandalize your car intentionally. 2) Park among the gen pop. Advantages and disadvantages opposite of above, except you have the additional advantage of a shorter walk to your destination. That aspect actually has no bearing on my decision, but I could see why it would matter to some, maybe most people. I have also heard some people say they try to find other nice cars in the lot and park next to them, as chances are higher that those car owners will appreciate your property. Thoughts? Where do you guys park? Feel free to add to my list of pros/cons. And FYI...this topic makes me sick to my stomach |

I park as far away as I can. Most stores make their employees park all the way out back, to not take premium parking spaces away from their customers. Parking where the employees do is the best place, because those cars are not going to move and you are protected on all sides. Just don't park anywhere near pine trees (sap), or under a light (birds). That's how I do it.

As far back as possible. And backed into the parking space. I usually try to find a spot in a corner so there can only be one open space next to me.

I park on a college campus 4 days a week. One time I didn't stick to my plan and I got a ding because of it.
So I've got a few choice spots. Yeah, it's a little out of the way at times, but well worth it so I don't have any more damage done. So far as going shopping, I'll sit and wait for 10 minutes if I have to in order to get a "Camaro parking" spot or definitely park way out and hike in.

I try to park away from other cars but sooner or later you're going to get dinged. Seems to me that these cars attract people to park right next to you no matter how far away you are from all the other cars.
And please don't be the douche that takes up two spots with your Camaro. Just don't do it. |

At work there is several other people that drive nice sports cars in the deck. There's three spots between each concrete post. I usually park next to a Dodge Charger that has plenty of mods and the post, he is actually trading up to a 14 and waiting on it to hit the dealer (looking forward to seeing the new SRT8). There's also a C5 Corvette and another Gen5 Camaro that I'll park in between. Common sports cars that people are also meticulous about = no door dings.
As far as parking lots, I usually try and park away from other cars and also away from shopping cart bins. If there's a cart floating around near my car in the lot I'll also put it in the bin to avoid the wind pushing it into my car. |

Park as far away as possible from other cars. Get an end spot and hug that curb. A little walk never hurt me but a ding in my door will hurt my wallet, been doing this since my first car when unfortunately got hit real good in the passenger rear quarter panel and the dbag ran off.

I don't know if I'm weird or considered a douche but if a HUGE parking lot only has a few cars in it and I'm at the tail end of the lot and the business day, think its fine to take up a few spots, who does it hurt? If its a crowded place, I wouldn't even think of it though.

Just depends, at work I have enough space to park in the back.
At school parking gets tight but we have 5 floors. Typically the nicer cars and any cars you can tell are worked on are on the 4th floor (last enclosed floor). Most of us know each other by now so we just cover each other and keep an eye out for any bullshit vandalism. |

I park in the very back spot I can find, preferably next to a curb or on an end spot so only one side is at risk of a bad parker.
Also in the parking lot for my apartment/duplex/neighborhood/whatever you wanna call it, I back into an area that's at the end of the dead-end street. We're the 2nd house to the end so it's right by my house, but it's also on the side of the street with no houses. It's a little area with enough space for two cars and more space around them to fully open the doors and a curb on both sides. I back in, and my neighbor backs in with his 2003 Cobra right next to me. We both have more than enough room and don't have to worry about anyone else. Funny thing is, this wasn't really planned. It just kinda happened and it's a bit of an unspoken of agreement that when one of us is there, the other backs in there as well. We've never even mentioned it to each other, it just happens even if there are spots right in front of our house completely open. |

Back 40 for no more then 10 mins. Mines not a daily so much easier to do this. Truthfully mine rarely ever leaves my sight.

I park right up front in the closest spots; in the handicap parking section (Although I wish I didn't need to).
