If Chevrolet can produce a Camaro that is 90% it's current size & weight with progressive (leaner/meaner) looks of the 1st + 5th gen. and powered by direct injection 340hp V6, 460hp na V8 SS (470hp na V8 Z-28) & 720hp V8 ZL-1... they'll continue to sell as well, if not better than they do now.

Upgrade all lighting to LED w/o the euro (sunglasses) taillights... design something that can pass world standards, yet look appealing to your largest customer base, the US market.

Add some gimmicky things like a mild cam engine sound and factory exhaust cut-out options.

Try to keep entry pricing at current levels +/- inflation...

Have you ever seen a 70 1/2' steel split bumper camaro? Yes the later plastic bumper stuff wasn't the most appealing, but the steelies were beutiful.

With all the color and options availabe, you shouldn't have any trouble being unique in this Camaro. An amazing pallet for anyones imagination imho! Maybe some subtle changes in looks for the sake of having something new, but not too much. Don't mess with success Chevy!

GM is at a handicap because they can't make the Camaro faster and more powerful without also upgrading the vette. While Ford has just there one car to worry about.

Just the same, if GM doesnt come out the gate with 500 hp for the SS, I dare say they will be behind Ford.
i agree

its a good idea but the camaro is already a pretty wide car it'd be interesting to see how they would pull that off without being wider than a suv

There was no z-28 in '76. It returned in '77.

Keep the traditional V-8, no AFM, at least 5.7L. Direct injection and a variable cam timing to improve mpgs. 3400ish lbs. SS version with the big V8. A V-6 version for the economy segment... More 1st gen size.

I'd bet if they went really retro, all the way toward a '69 like this, 100,000 + in sales volume easily.

They did amazing job on the 5th gen. Love mine! Not sure what a retro 2nd would do for me.

And as others have said, who cares about Mustang. That is and has always been one fugly car...IMO ;-)
