LS3 made in Mexico?

So as far as Ih ave ever known, the LS3 is either made in St Catherine's Ontario or Wixom Michigan. I was at the dealer the other day and they had a 2014 SS sedan, which claims it has an LS3 and the window sticker says Mexico for the engine and transmission. I also know that the GM 6 speed auto in these cars and our Camaro's is made in Michigan at the GM Drivetrain plant.

I cannot find anything about Mexico, other than the LSA is assembled at the Silai GM engine plant.

Any GM guru's on here know anything about this mysterious Mexican LS3?

It's probably the same as any other LS3. It was just made somewhere else.

Assembled in Mexico, that's not all terrible. I'm not sure about the LS3 but the tremec manual transmissions in our cars are definitely made in Mexico.

the dry sumps are assembled in Wixom Michigan, the regular LS3 in St Cathernies Ontario. 6 speed manual is made at the Tremec plant in Mexico.

I have never ever heard of an LS3 assembled in Mexico.....

I'm ok with the tranny being made in mexico... at least in Mexico it's likely built by people who know how to shift

Could be they moved operations. Does that make it a worse product, probably not.

Hope no Americans lost jobs over this.
