GT350
0-150 mph in the hands of John Hennesey did 0-150 in 24 seconds, I also observed the BMW M4 do it in 22 seconds with way less stock hp. This in my eyes seems line a huge fail for the 5.2L flat plane crank power plant. The M4 pulled to 170 mph in 5th gear in a very healthy manner where as the Ford struggled to reach 170 in 5th. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgvR4CRAoNw

No surprise really, the torque peak is 3000rpm before the 8300rpm redline.
That thing will not pull in 5th unless you already have the revs up. On a footnote has anyone seen the steering wheel? It looks like a 2010 Camaro wheel with a flat bottom

"The launch was soft and the shifts were firm but there is certainly better 0-60 and 0-100 mph times in this car."

This thread wasn't posted to show the focus for track use but come on, 5.2 liters and over 500 hp at 3600 lbs should be quicker than that, plus 0 to 100 close to 10 seconds. Unless this was at altitude those times are not impressive. Anyone with a brain would see my argument is based on acceleration capability since cars don't win races standing still do they?

It's called a high revving V8 engine, you have to bring the RPM's up to over 5000 then dump the clutch to get the correct launch. It isn't an automatic where you just push the gas pedal. First 60' are the most important.
BTW, sorry, this comment wasn't directed at you. I hate when people make videos of tests and launch a car like its a station wagon. The Camaro V6 and the Mustang's both have to be launched in high RPM since there is no low end torque at all. Last edited by MagnumForceGB; 12-27-2015 at 05:07 PM. |

I would prefer to see more tests before I form an opinion on the performance of this car. Hessensey is an upgrade company. It would be in their advantage to sandbag a little with any stock car. Not saying they did, but I'm not taking their one youtube test as gold. I wouod still rather have this car over any BMW.

Dude just let it go. I get it. You want to say something negative about a Ford product. The voodoo is a fantastic motor. In a fantastic car. The only race an SS might win is a drag race. It's the same arguement ford guys used to chirp about the Z28 and GT last year. Z28 and GT350 owners are not worried about this kind of nonsense. Put these cars where they belong and there isn't a stock M3 or SS keeping up on earth. If your buying either of these cars to drag race or do some silly highway roll racing your screwing up.
