Apolitical Blues Lyrics
Well my telephone was ringing

You can tell him anything

I've got the apolitical blues
And that's the meanest blues of all
Apolitical blues

I don't care if it's John Wayne
I just don't want to talk to him now

While I would probably gain some bragging rights in an SS, I could not see it as practical for me. I'm not a racer or a track person, I'm a teacher. I have a 20 minute commute each way. I simply don't need 455hp ( especially, all the state police out on our interstate when on my daily return). I got the V6 50th Anniversary which is pretty much (I mean no offense, it is not exactly the same) an SS with standard features and some options and for less money. So, I'll l just get the looks without all the power. GM was obviously thinking about various demographics and that is why they offer a 4,6 and 8 cylinder. If I was in a different situation, I would have thought about the 8 cylinder. One SS features I wish I could have ordered is the rear spoiler. I do like it better than the lip spoiler but all in all I'm very happy about my choice. This is going to be my first "sports car". My trade is a 2011 Maxima which was a great car but it was not a "4DR Sports Car", Nissan.

Look at the blade spoiler sold by GM accessories , its perfectly painted for your car and just is a bolt on for you , whereas the SS people can't use it without major mod. I really like mine

Wonderfully said.. And I'm sure coming from a 2011 Maxima was a sure step up.

V6/i4 is a great car with plenty of usable HP. The SS is def. too much car for the street.

Who cares about need? You don't need even the I4t either.

You can tell me what to buy if you're going to pay for it.

Better to have it and never need it than to need it and not have it!

Isn't it great that we live in the USA where we are free to express our diverse beliefs and opinions? Everyone is entitled to their own views.

I love watching old motorweek "retro" car reviews on youtube. It's funny to hear them say a car is quick when it hits 60mph in 9.5 seconds.

I just watched one recently on the 1997 Camaro SS and it put up nearly identical numbers to the V6 today. I graduated from high school in '97 and I remember that car being sooo bad ass.
The bigger thing is those 4th gens were about what, 250-400lbs lighter. Says alot about the performance differences between a LT4 4th gen vs current V-6.

Beat me to it. You could easily say the same thing about the V6. Who needs 335 HP or whatever it is? Even the I4 isn't far from 300 HP.

I had a 2001 Grand Prix GTP back in '04 with the supercharged 3.8 V6. I think they had about 240 HP and that was plenty fast enough.

The speed limits haven't really changed much though they have went up a little here. But most modern four cylinders are plenty powerful enough. Where do you draw the line?

A buddy of mine had a 97, I remember thinking it was very slow.

The draw of the Camaro for me is the V8 powertrain. I agree that it has way more power than anyone needs for the street but I could also say that about my Toyota minivan. A big part of the Camaro driving experience for me is the low end torque and wonderful exhaust note that the V8 delivers.
