2019 Dodge Hellcat Drag Pack

Looks like the Dodge guys are upping the game and making good use of the Demon equipment. Now the question is how much will actually make it to the production car.

If you’re a drag guy, hell of a car with factory warranty...

With the small bump in HP along with the wheel/tire package from the Demon, this should put the Hellcats in the 10:60s -10:70s range.

Expect much, if not all of it, to make it to the Hellcat cars.... We all know the Hellcats are a one trick pony, but a very damn good one trick pony

FCA sure is milking this ~10 year old design for all it's worth. The widebody was an extra $7,500. How much will this set the FCA faithful back? ~9-10k?

FCA has no choice. They won’t spend the money to mordernize the Charger/Challenger which are hopelessly outdated. Fiat are trying to sell off Chrysler as a whole (Dodge/Chrysler/Ram/Jeep) but all anyone wants is Jeep. Dodge might truly be dead as a brand in the near future.

Exactly. Fiat's CEO has pretty much begged everyone to buy the brand from them and everyone has told him to, "Get lost!".

Oh well...

Fiat should kill Dodge and Chrysler and keep the other two. Chrysler hasn’t had a relevant vehicle in quite some time, and Dodge struck out, badly, with the Dart. At least Ram and Jeep probably make money.

I'll concede the fact that the Dart was a dismal failure. No doubt about it, but if they were to follow your astute plan, what brand would their sales leading Pacifica (formerly Caravan) fall under? It is in fact a Chrysler, so that disproves your statement of no Chrysler being relevant. It outsold both the Toyota and Honda offerings in 2017.

That's funny, this 10 year old design from FCA has outsold the Camaro the last few months and even outsold the newly redesigned Mustang last month. Sure seems like something is working and honestly if I were you, I would be more concerned about the dismal sales of the Camaro, because we all know what happened back in 2002.

Just relax, Hercules. Yes, the Challenger outsold the 6th Gen Camaro for a few months during 2017...kudos. Nobody here is exactly high on the 6th Gen either. That is why we chose to stay with our 5th Gen's instead of paying $1,000's more for essentially an evolution of the 5th Gen vehicle.

If you want to talk about sales, look back over the past 8 years since the inception of the 5th Gen Camaro and you'll see that FCA has placed 3rd in sales ~90-95% of the time. I'm not dogging on them. Competition breeds success. With GM, Ford and Dodge all pushing the envelope, the consumer wins.

Pacifica? A minivan? A market that is all but dead and forgotten? I digress...

You're an FCA fan. We get it, but don't come onto a GM website and expect people to be singing the praises of Dodge.

Peace.

You need the full view to get an appreciation of the true picture. Not fleet dump month. I'd be more worried its 1974 for the Challenger.

Retail ATP's 2017 (JDPin)
Camaro: $39,514
Challenger: $35,498 (-$4,016)
Mustang: $33,792 (-$5,722)

Retail Sales 2017
Camaro: 65,222
Mustang: 60,581 (-4641)
Challenger: 45,821 (-19,401)

Total Sales 2017
Mustang 81,866
Camaro 67,940 (-13,926)
Challenger 64,537 (-17,329)

Percentage of Total Sales that are Fleet/Rental 2017
Camaro 4%
Mustang 26% (+22%)
Challenger 29% (+25%)

As someone said, vans are pretty much a thing of the past. But more important, "Pacifica"? One model does not make a brand.

Yep, that Chrysler 200 was a winner as well. The Pacifica night be the only decent thing they have right now. I’d like to try a new one. We need the Sto ‘n Go seats and our 2012 Grand Caravan has been falling apart since new. The plastic vent tabs broke off, the power seat switch has fallen out twice and the hard plastic around the seat base just hangs there. If the Odyssey had fold flat seats we’d own that I’m sure. The 300 is over 10 years old as well isn’t it?

Toyota outsold all of FCA combined for 2017. If Chrysler/Dodge is so valuable, why is Fiat looking to dump it with zero takers? Your beloved Challenger might be a Chinese car soon like Volvo.

I like the Challenger. Especially the blue you have. It desperately needs a make over though. The brand is in trouble and it’s not fanboy-ism that’s making me say that. I grew up with Oldsmobile & Plymouth. Hard to buy a new one of those these days.

I don't know about this dragpack version but MotorWeek got a chance to test a new Challenger Hellcat widebody and with the improved tire package they ran a 10:90s @ 127-mph vs the 12:10 at 124-mph smokeshow they got from a non widebody version several years ago.
