consensus on aftermarket LT4 lids?

I know for a while there was a good uptick in aftermarket vendors coming out with lids besides Nitrous Express. Have any actually been *independently* tested to see if they make the gains they claim?

I was looking to port my stock blower come fall and was debating on going with an aftermarket lid or not. I also wonder why the lids aren't taller, of if that would run into a hood clearance issue or just wouldn't do anything.

Yep, purely cosmetic.

blower whine is a bit louder but not worth the $ unless you want to use the ports for meth...cosmetic reasons also I suppose

OEM ZL1 has the tallest lid hence the consensus of aftermarket lids being worthless. Don't waste your money.

A bit louder blower whine. Otherwise, expensive bling.

I guess as a spin-off question, is it even worth removing that metal rectangle that's inside the lid?

People have said you hear more blower whine with it removed. There's no performance gain.

Oh yea, the blower is louder for sure. That is the only purpose of that metal plate, to deaden the blower noise.

The video comparison below is hard to tell the difference but its there. (just for full disclosure the Rotofab and removing that plate happened at the same time.)
