Got the imbalance fixed, had to swap jets around to figure out which one was clogged. Problem now is when the fuel system hits and causes fuel knock and it is audible at 5000 RPM.
Won't be doing much with the Camaro this week though, going to get the 5.0 ready to take to the track to see how the converter does on it. Going to steal my wife's 15" drag radials, see if they can hold the power. |

I have to get back into a groove at the drag strip, last time I kept slowly accelerating which didn't help. With the 5.0 I can race it and I don't have in the back of my head if this run is when the engine will fail.

Definitely got the fueling issue fixed now, car spun the tires in 3rd gear where before it wouldn't. Now I can work on the cam timing more so I can get some more top end power, there is still some power left on the table.

I'm getting there, I need to get the idle fixed though, it is idling with too much air load and it causes the engine to run hotter than I want. Before the cams I had the air load at 16% during idle, now it is 26%. Doing idle tuning is the hardest since it requires a perfect balance between all the tables, you can actually change the throttle opening through the spark tables.
Didn't get to go to the track tonight, raining all day and the track likes to weep after heavy rains. |

Almost got idle fixed, running better but still has rough spots. Cruising at 70 MPH I'm having to apply more throttle than before when I had stock cams, so I have to adjust the cruising cam timing also.
Best part though, I found the limitation of the TCC Slip PID that the computer spits out, 4096 RPM, it won't read higher than that. My Engine RPM was 5000 and Trans Input RPM was 700, so the TCC slip should have been 4300 but it is peaked at 4096. I did that test flooring it from idle, if I brake stall it to 3000 RPM it will spin the tires after I let the brakes go, so that is the way to leave. |

I just checked the 0-60 MPH time in 3rd gear, I went from 5.6 seconds to 4.6 seconds. It's making a little bit more power now.

I'm getting there, I went too far in my idle tuning so when I shut the car off and try to restart it immediately, it will try to start the engine with the throttle closed. I have to push the throttle to get it to start, so that part of the tune is going to be fun.
This is the video of the 4.6 second 0-60 MPH in 3rd gear only. |

Got the engine to restart immediately after I turn it off, so that part of the tune is fixed. It turns out it wasn't the throttle, but the timing was off by 1.5 degrees. Still having issues with knock happening when the aux fuel system hits, so I might need to get more meth into the system before the fuel hits.

May have put too much power into the engine, I did the same test in 3rd gear with my 5.0 and it took 6.8 seconds to do 0-60 mph, compared to 4.6 seconds in my Camaro. The 5.0 only stalled to 4100 RPM though compared to 5000+ of the Camaro, so the torque multiplication must have been crazy high, especially since the Camaro is 10% heavier. Still trying to get more power out of the top end but I don't think there is much I can do since the Vortech unit is maxed out.
