Exclamation Any Rergets Not Buying the 2017 1LE or ZL1?

Buddy of mine yesterday said he wants to buy the new 2017 1LE. He says the 1LE is the new version of the 2014-15' Z/28.

Any regrets on the Z?

Go knock yourselves out. No regret here. Once the warranty is gone (2023) I'll decide or not ship mine to Katech and take her to 670 hp and a street attack LS7; and it will cost less than a new 20171LE. Of course, by then the 2017 1LE will be selling for 25,000 to 30,000; and the limited edition Z/28 worth??

No it's not, neither is the ZL1/1LE. Run all three in a six hour endurance race and see which one completes more laps

No regrets at all. I really do like the 6th gen look and features but not nearly as much as the pure badass attitude and look of my Z.

Not even a little bit. I looked hard at both the Gen 6 ZL1 and 1LE. In pictures I wasn't super thrilled, but I thought that maybe in person there would be a big difference and after seeing them in person actually thought the 1LE looked pretty cool, but they still didn't give me that visceral reaction I get from the Z/28. Great cars I'm sure, and I daily drive mine so they're probably better cars for that, but I just don't care. I love my Z......it's that magic combination of rarity, rawness, badass looks, and the elusive "IT" factor that the new ZL1 and 1LE just cannot touch!

what about the zl1 1le though? i dont personally own a z/28 but have driven my buddies a bunch of times the best thing about the z/28 is that it came with the ls7 and manual trans only so your guys' cars are going to feel more like a drivers car whereas the gen 6 models are more tech and aero related for their greatness

only thing I would like is 650 supercharged horsepower...If I had balls(mine are gone), a whipple would be under my hood.

The ZL1 1LE is definitely badass.......I would take one with a smaller rear wing. Just a little too over the top for the street, but that is definitely one bad momma....

Yes and No. Hard to explain. I like the new 6th Gen Interiors but keeping my Z/28.

The 2017 1LE is a great car. I would not trade my Z28 for one. However since they don't make a Z28 i would probably get a new 1LE. I have been on the track with them our cars are very close. Some tracks I am faster some tracks he is faster. he is more experienced.

The 1LE does not have a 427 in it. No way would I give up the 427. With a few mods the Z28 is can be insane and faster then all those in question.

I would get a Z51 Corvette over the 2017 1LE if I could afford it. I will keep my Z28 over all of them.

As others have said take the time over 30 min. In a 30 min session the Z28 will have completed more laps even if the ZL1 1LE is faster for 1 or 2 laps.

Our Z's are great and fast, but the heat soak issue the Z06 was suffering from seems to be solved, and so I expect the ZL1 1LE will not face that problem - that said it will have similar suspension set up (improved from what we have with easier adj.), similar or less weight, more aero, more rear tire, and a lot of extra power and chassis is stiffer. So each of those factors will add to additional performance and will make it the king of the hill for the Camaro on the track.

Now ad mods to the Z/28 motor and go to 550 rwhp and you are right back on top of it. But stock for stock on paper the Zl1 1LE should be the faster car on the track, regardless of session time. But time will tell, you could be right.

PS - not one regret for in buying the Z/28 - it is everything I was looking for, but it is a niche car and not for everyone.
