Top WASHING ??

WHAT do you use(soap) when washing the top? DO you ever go to the Hand spary car wash? or the drive in no touch?

There are cleaning kits for the top and protectant. I dont powerwash it at all. Just spray it down with the hose and some soapy water. Then Rinse it off.

How is the 303 as a water repellant? I've got the top replacement coming and thought I'd treat it properly from day one.

To the OP, I used my Adam's interior soft leather brush (horse hair I think) when I needed to "lightly" scrub something out this past weekend. It worked fine.

I use the 303 as a protectant. For regular washes I just use a small amount of suds from my regular wash. If it's really dirty I hit it with my foam gun then lightly scrub with a wheel brush.

I've only washed mine twice with a water hose since I got my car (6 months). It's garage kept and I use a spray bottle of distilled water and a microfiber cloth to wipe down the car about every 3 or 4 days and two 6 inch packaging tape to remove all the lint, dirt and other stuff off the top. Just roll the tape around your hands or fingers and tap away and everything comes off. The stuff that doesn't come off, I use Blue Magic Convertible Top Cleaner from Pep Boys. My car still looks like new.

I take mine through the car wash with neoprene brushes weekly. No issues...although the air dry at the end makes me more nervous than the brushes. Talk to the attendant...the car wash here has a button they push for convertibles the turns off the water jets that are for the roofs. In my opinion leaving contaminants on the fabric is worse than washing it. I also protect mine every 6 months.

I used the 303 product last spring but I am going to give this one a try this year. After seeing the video on how to use this product and the protection it provides I decided to give it a try.

i take mine to the local quarter car wash ($1.50 these days) all the time.
I just make sure I spray the top from a distance.

Works just fine.
