What a douche thing to do. Put a pic like that on an enthusiasts forum and not explain what happened. Lame.

This is like when a person says you know what, and when you inquire they go, sorry I'm not allowed to say anything. Actually this is worse since in my scenario, you're told that they aren't able to say anything, here you get nothing.

Calm down everybody I haven't been back on here since I posted the pick. I was somewhere around the top side of 150 as soon as I hit the tap shift for 6th it went poof and the hood changed colors. Me and the passenger just looked at each other and didn't say nothing for about 3 miles. Best part is it didn't even hurt it. I know I am fixing to hear some shit talking now and yes that is packing tape holding it on

Uhmmmmmmm no.

As for the picking on the person that said not in all my years on this planet.................yes, I agree. Not in all my years either has a steel or aluminum hood failed like this.

All steel or aluminium hoods are hemmed over. Yes there is hem adhesive to lock it down, but a hemmed hood will not come apart like this.

Corvette hood is a bonded inner and outer. But even that won't come apart like this.

Likely the front had a gap and the air pressure tore it off, more like unzipped it. But to me, and I've worked on bonded hoods (Corvette among others), this looks like a pretty poor hood design. Note there appears to be no fiber tear on the adhesive (which looks like double sided foam tape). A proper bond would have resulted in fiber tear all along the bonded joint. I don't see any.
