Illegitimate B'stard Brother of Bumble Bee?

Hi Guys, as you know I got my car a couple of weeks ago & I took it to my 'decal guy' today for some work. From the moment I bought it, I thought this would look kinda' cool. I really like it what you rekon?

Looks good. I always think black cars are a bit...er...black, so anything to add a splash of colour is refreshing.
Did you buy the decals pre-cut, or can they be generated by local vehicle signmakers?

These were done by a company near Nottingham, who does lots of decals for my motorcycle business. He basically 'made' these on the car from scratch. Amazing to watch, they make it look dead easy (which we all know, it's not) he even did the pin stripe around the edge, by hand & it's bang on.
The beauty with these are, when you get board, just rip 'em off & either leave it or choose any one from about 10,000 colours they have.

Wow! That is one skilled craftsman. I'm impressed.

I see he has an Exacto knife in hand, apparently trimming after the install? How does one do that without cutting into the paint??

I asked the same question, as you can imagine. What he does is literally 'rest' it on the decal, it does not even cut the decal, but then as he lifts it back off the paintwork, he can, almost tear the decal, as it were, on the line the blade has made. He is awesome, done it for years.

That's an amazing bit of work and an amazing transformation (no pun intended). A big "approve/like" from me.

It costs £400 for Chevvy to put their stripes on so could be an option for any future purchasers of new cars. (assuming your man charges less!)

Ok guys, a few have asked the question, so here it is. They will cost you £150.00 fitted & they will fit them while you wait, subject to booking the car in, obviously.
They can do any amount of colour/finish options, but they can tell you more about that. He is reluctant to cut them & send them 'ready done' as it were, because of the way they wrap over the edge of the bonnet bulge, so taking your car for them to fit them, is the only real option.
If you are interested, or want more info, give them a call on 0115 944 3111 ask for Graham or Ted & they will tell you all you need to know.
They are 'The Image Works' in place called Ilkeston, not far from Nottingham/Derby

Cheers Julian

That's incredibly cheap IMO. I had a seat cowl painted on a Honda some years back to match my Camel race rep colours and for that alone I paid over £100 !!

That's a bookmark site for me. Mmmmm ...
