I had my 2016 SS torque converter replaced. That fixed the problem

I'm surprised that the 2017 is having the same issue. Chevy should have fixed these things by now

These A8 issues are out of hand! They need to come up with some sort of a solid resolution, but I am afraid with the 9 and 10 speeds out already, the A8 is going to be the forgotten transmission at GM in the very near future.

Had the tranny flushed and it went right away. Didn't have to drive it 200 miles or need a converter.

Talked to a dealer about the torque converter shudder and they said 'something might be coming down the pike'. Don't know what that means but figured I'd mention it.

I received my car back on Friday with a new TCM recalibration and relearning of clutches C1 and C4. And just like last time, the car was a whole new animal. Shifts are firm and exact and not as harsh as they were before taking it in this time. We had a lot of rain the day I brought it home so I couldn't confirm any WOT runs but the 1-4 shifts are how I they should be. I'm at 27K miles so I hope they got it right this time.

So no TC replacement just a reflash? I know your last visit was a flush involved to so you still have the original TC?

Just dropped mine off at the dealer yesterday morning for the shudder issue, this will be the 2nd time its in for service for this issue. First time they flushed the trans fluid, replaced the trans filter, and "re-programmed the trans computer" as stated on the receipt.

So, Dealership just called me @ 1PM yesterday, they are going to replace the Torque Converter now. They will have my car 3-4 days....(I also reported the front end shakes when braking, probably warped rotors and exhaust rattles/squeaks during light acceleration)

This was done on mine last year, then this year the transmission fell apart and was basically fully rebuilt.

Correct. I still have my original TC. The minor shudder is gone and it does shift better than before I took it back in. I still have concerns about the 7-6 downshift at about 42mph. That seems to be a sweet spot for the AFM to be in 4cyl mode and when I ease into about 25% throttle, the trans downshifts and AFM returns to V8 mode and it's a hard downshift. If it's supposed to be that way, so be it but it just feels excessive. Since the rain has held off for a couple days, I have been driving it hard to make sure the shudder is gone and it seems to be good....for now.

My Service Manager told me the calibration I received last week only came out this spring so maybe it's an updated one compared to the one you received?

Reporting in too. It was shaking while driving back from vacation over a couple hundred miles at about 75 mph. The RPM raised too, even wile in manual mode. Too bad, because I can never get my dealership to reproduce anything easily, and this is my second 6th gen lol.

If yours was anything like mine, you can almost learn how to reproduce it on demand because you drive a certain way. If you need to, take the Tech for a ride and make it do it. Just because they can't reproduce it doesn't mean it isn't happening.

Morning guys. I had the same rumble strip feels a few days back. Took a tech for a ride and was able to show him what was happening. Long story short. They did a new converter, fluid flush and a reflash of the trans computer.

I'm only gotten to drive it about 5 miles home so not sure if the work was effective. Will post back here after I've been able to drive it for an extended period of time.

Update - took car to the dealer and had the 3-flush procedure done (and they didn't bat an eye at my mods). Instant cure of the problem, and it is shifting far better as well. I have to admit at being shocked that the procedure cured it this well, as it had gotten bad enough that I was thinking new torque converter. Now to see if this "fix" lasts ...
