Ya, the same 5th gear ratio that allows you get decent gas mileage while not on the highway is so crippling at the track. It's frustrating at VIR to hit the top of 4th gear when you are kinda close to the brake zone, but not quite there yet. Not worth shifting to 5th at that point, so instead I've been short shifting at 5800 RPM. Better for the engine and less frustrating, but also slower.
