sun visor

Hi,

Thinking of replacing my sun visors. The factory ones don't seem to block any sun from the side. They don't even extend into the window. Driving with the window down I used the visors all the time in my old ride. Been driving during the day and that hot sun on the side of my face not to comfortable. Just wondering if anyone has switched these out with better ones or if anyone else has an issue with the stock ones.

Thanks,
Kevin

There aren't any direct factory replacements that I know of, but I ordered a spare set from LKQ to see what kind of modifications could be done with a spare set, and I didn't have much luck. However, I'm using them for another project, so they're perfect for that.

However, there are things like this, if these are up your alley:

Thanks ghosted,

Yah, that is another way to do it just as an add on. Appreciate the links and will read up and see if anyone has had luck with any of these for a 5th gen camaro. If not might just try one. Pretty inexpensive so not much to lose.

After finding these for ya, I'm actually considering it now.

So basically if anyone wants to get rich, make a 5th gen camaro sun visor as it seems there are no aftermarket big ones

Couldn't find larger visors. But then decided to hide the plastic on the exisiting ones instead.
Modified with a leather cover to fit over the existing stock visors so it would match the leather interior.
Bonded to plastic with Barge leather glue to prevent sag of the leather.

I cheated. I just went to autozone and purposely bought these. They're larger than my visor (which I intentionally bought to use as an 'extender'). Ends up working great and bonus-has an organizer to hold my glasses:

I have a spare passenger visor that I'm not doing anything with.

Edit: I just realized that I hacked up my passenger visor for testing
Instead of my driver's side.

However, I got them for $52/pair on eBay from LKQ.
