I definitely like the 1LE wheel better. The ZL1 wheel is too busy IMHO. I live 5 spoke wheels, they look mean....

The monochromatic look of many modern cars doesn't flow as well with a chrome wheel. Try picturing a set of Cragar SS on an Aventador! Yea, that ain't happening. At that time bright accents complimented the car. In many cases that's no longer a certainty.
Haha yeah something along those lines was a theory in my head, 'like all back in the day all the chrome kinda matched' the brights as you called them. I think you are probably right... and now that everything went monochromatic the polished metallic chrome look stands out like sore thumb and clashes... Some people are just accustomed to them though.

I prefer dark rims. When they first came around I wasn't a big fan, but it changed fast. Now I find it bizarre how rims evolved to have a standard silvery metallic look. I've wondered for some time why it wasn't more a default to color them to match the paint of the car. In terms of color palate and general color design, the silver look clashes with the color of just about all paint aside from silver. You'd need to have vastly more silver'ish accents to help offset the intrusive random nature of the silver rim. I think silver paint/wrap/dip cars looks GREAT with a standard silver/aluminum colored rim because they match, haha. Black rims match with the black tires, add a contrast to to compliment ANY color. Add some black accents on the rest of the vehicle and its fantastic. Unless you are going total blacked out look, which itself is just badass.
The more options the better. It allows us to personalize our ride.

This is how I had hoped the ZL1 would come. Same wheels on the new body. If it ain't broke, why fix it? These wheels are timeless. I think I will just buy the old set and sell the ones that come on the 2017.

I have a set for sale. They are listed in the Texas local market. Let the mods begin.

Wow...nice photo. I'll keep both sets, one for track, one for street. Those wheels look massive though...maybe with spacers too? lowered with a really wide track there

oh...which magazine/issue is this photo from? thanks

I agree. I think the new 1LE wheel looks great!
Too bad it's not an option for the ZL1. I bet it would look killer on that car.
