Tpms not accurate

2017 ss. 2k miles. 2 different tire guages are reading 40 psi on the dot (I know, it's high, but not the point). Car and Chevy app are reading between 31-33 psi on the tires, and are telling me they are low.

Yesterday I took it to the dealer to "recalibrate", which the tech did with the tool going around the tires. There was no change from before, after driving it several miles.

What can I do next? Obviously I don't want my tires sitting at 40 psi, but if I drop the pressure, the car thinks I'm sitting way lower than "low".

Ignore what the computer says and go by the gauge you put your hands on

There is no "recalibration" being done with the tech going around syncing the TPMS sensor in each wheel with the correct position in the BCM. I would ask the dealer to look into replacing the TPMS sensors under the warranty.

I thought that as well but wasn't absolutely sure.

I'll be looking into the warranty soon.

Thanks for the replies

Mine are off as well.. generally reads 2 to 3 pounds less than what is reported by my gauge. Vegas will get cold enough to get them throwing up the low pressure warning

Next oil change, the dealer is going to have to fix mine as well. It tells me my rear driver side tire has only 8 PSI....obviously not correct. My TPMS also do not match the display on the instrument panel to which sensor goes to which tire.

Odd that it is telling you it is low if the car and app is reading 31-33, as that is not low and in range. My door sticker says 32, so it shouldn't tell you it's low until like 27...humm, odd.

Mine have always read within a pound of my Michelin digital gauge, get them checked, something is amiss.

What's odd, is 2 were reading 32, but only 1 was reading as low. 1 was 31, low. The other was 33 and was fine

So. Turns out my 3 guages were off. I made a new guage out of parts from work, which is absolute (also, wayyyyy too expensive).

My tpms are only off by a psi or so. I never would have thought my 3 guages were not only off, but all consistent with each other.

Edited for runaway autocorrect again

Where did you get three shitty gages?

I have had a succession of inexpensive pencil and dial gages and they all have been within 1 psi of the TPMS, a least until the dial gages were dropped on pavement and lost calibration.

One is a gifted electric readout/talking gauge.
One is an el cheapo from AutoZone I've used a few times in the past.
One is a brand new Ryobi electric pump/guage (it's getting taken back because of it being off)
