The New SS isn't cheap!

39k just for the 1SS minimum without options besides destination fee
42k for the 2SS minimum without options besides destination fee

For a fully loaded SS your looking at 51-52k, thats crazy!!

It mainly seems crazy to me because I just got my ZL1 for 50k, to think a new loaded SS is going to cost more than a new ZL1 is a bit mind blowing.

WOW!guess I wont be getting a 16' model,,exactly $10,000 more for the same options I have on my10' model,...and I really would like to have a 16' but that is getting up to a price for a vette,..but GM would still be satisfied at that,i don't think they will sell like the 2010's did,

Got to love those close out deals or used prices. Considering the new SS performs almost on par with the previous ZL1... I am not shocked by the price. A new ZL1 is $55K + Tax, Lic & Delivery for a bone stock ZL1. Add anything to it and the price climbs.

My fairly loaded 2SS comes in well under that price with Tax, Lic and Delivery.

Perhaps you should take a look at what the 1SS and 2SS includes before jumping to conclusions. The 2SS is loaded, only real options are auto, sunroof, MRC, and NPP. That will still bring you in under $50k. The 1SS is the equivalent of a '15 1SS 1LE while offering better performance for a better price. Also don't forget RS is included on the SS now. There's no stripper cars this time though.

You mean the new technology/model won't be cheaper??
I've assumed $50K for loaded out SS.

Yes pricing all over the place. The 1ss is 36,300 MSRP. I am ordering mrc npp sunroof and still be under $40K. Although maybe you are justifying to yourself you got the better deal. Very understandable.

From Camaro5.com:
2016 SS vs 2013-2015 1LE
Source: http://www.*********media.com/produc...six/specs.html

1) faster lap times

With the lighter, stiffer architecture and more powerful engines, the Gen Six Camaro SS delivers better lap times than the fifth-generation’s track-focused Camaro 1LE package.

2) less weight

200 lbs lighter

Significant weight savings came from using an aluminum instrument panel frame instead of steel, which saved 9.2 pounds (4.2 kg). The use of lightweight components, including aluminum front suspension links and steel rear suspension links with lightening holes, in the new five-link rear suspension system contributed to a 26-pound (12 kg) reduction in the overall suspension weight.

3) more HP (at lesser weight)

Horsepower (hp / kW @ rpm):455 / 339 @ 6000*
Torque (lb-ft / Nm @ rpm):455 / 617 @ 4400

4) better suspension

Front: MacPherson-type strut with dual lower ball joints, twin-tube struts and direct-acting stabilizer bar; Magnetic Ride Control with monotube inverted struts

Rear:independent five-link with twin-tube shocks and direct-acting stabilizer bar; Magnetic Ride Control with monotube shocks

SS comes stock with the 4pots in the front, so I take it the 4pot upgrade is for the 4/6cyl?

6pot is for the SS, right? That's going to be a problem. Was hoping the 6pots were going to be factory installed, because not legal to have dealer installed options in certain racing classes/organizations where you depend on things being stock. (Dealer installed not considered 'stock' and is treated as aftermarket).

I would think if you could supply a build sheet with them as a option that would be fine. We aren't talking about an OEM aftermarket performance part here.

Patience!

If you all wait, you'll get a better deal. I have to wait for the Vert, so by then dealers will be dealing out better deals...or not. Waiting until spring, but I feel your pain.

Considering you can get about 4k under MSRP if you know how to deal, that's about $38-39kk for a 2SS give or take.
Good luck with that!
