ZL1 1LE chases (and stays with) a McLaren Senna

I posted this in the FB group so apologies for those spammed but really excited about this experience... I got to chase a McLaren Senna for 8 laps at Summit Main. Wow. What a car. I felt like a pesky Miata - I was standing still on the straights compared to this car.

I believe the driver said he was hitting 180! whereas my best top speed was 149. On supercar 3rs this car is a beauty - the turn in was amazing and I couldn't believe how the car held up lap after lap. I'm fully on my personal limit keeping up with the Senna. 1:18.71 is my PB on main and in this session nearly matched it with a 1:18.77.

Clearly the Senna has a lot more time left in it; I made most of my time under braking and was really wheeling 5 - 9 to stay in the fight but was really impressed the owner could push his car as hard as he did. It was a great experience and one that I'll hold on to for awhile. To be honest, I was so tired from instructing and traveling the day before that I didn't even want to go out... but instead turned into the session of the year for me. It's not to often you can push a Senna into kicking up a big pile of dirt!

Enjoy!

Awesome, thank you for sharing. That thing is flying on the straights. You are no slouch in the turns!

The Alpha platform is awesome. A much better platform that even the C7 Corvette.

Great vid!
What OBD-II PID are you using for the throttle position? I noticed there are several options; "Accelerator Position A" "Accelerator Position B", "Normalized Throttle Position", etc.

The range of my throttle only reports 20%-84%

Nice driving!

I have not been to Summit Point for many years, It looks to be well maintained.

I don’t know about “stayed.” Good job nonetheless. That Senna was flying.
