What is it with all that rust on the pipes. My SS is 4 1/2 years old and doesn't have any rust on it.

Not sure. I was wondering about that myself. I got the car in DEC 13 with 1500 miles on the clock. I bought it in NYC and drove back to Chicago. Im not sure how or where the previous owner drove it. Plus the dealer put 400 miles on it before I got to it (@ 1500mi). It sat in my garage basically all polar vortex and only was driven in rain (once on the way home from nyc and maybe one other time back home). Here in the midwest we use a TON of salt so that might have something to do with it.

Those are coming off when I put on the ZL1 exhaust.

Holy surface rust!!!

Can't believe that's not excessive for such a new car. Being born and raised in Dallas we never see that kind of stuff.

I thought Borla's exhaust was made out of T-304 stainless steel and wasn't supposed to get surface rust?

They are stainless, the mufflers are not rusted. Its the stock pipes. The mufflers are axle backs.
