Paying for rear differential oil change ‘17

What’s everyone paying for a rear differential fluid change at a dealer? I’m pretty sure the guy who had my zL1 before me never changed the fluid.

Total for mine was $113.60. Breakdown was $32.69 for the labor and $80.91 for 3qts of fluid. You can buy the fluid online most places for $15-20 a qt. So they overcharge a bit on that. I may start buying the fluid and taking it along. However, I don't mind paying them $32 to change and dispose of it.

I wouldn't let a dealer touch my car however that might just be me because I love my car too much. Something to consider if you haven't done it yet. It will cost $45 and take 25 mins (literally) that includes a 7 dollar pump and 2 qts of ls gear oil 75w-90. It only takes 1.6 qts so don't let them bill you for 3qts. It was easier than an oil change.

*Optional* I then take some corners to pull some g's and recheck the level however it didn't change when I did it.

It's not just you...for sure...dealerships around me...and I would think in general, just cannot be trusted in caring for your vehicle like you would. It's not that they cannot perform the service requested, it is the other stuff like bumping another vehicle in the service lot, door dings, over revving for no reason. Unnecessary or excessive "test" drives. Newly made scratches on you paint. Every person who has used their local dealers services enough understands what I am saying...when your car comes back to you not quite as perfect as when you dropped her off...it's just kind of frustrating and disappointing.

I do not have any experience changing differential oil. Can anyone point me to a how to guide with either photos and/or videos? I'd like to give it a go...but am not really sure how. Thanks.

Paid 134$
But was allowed to stay and watch!
Controled everything...
-the way they lifted the car,
-the liquid they put
-the torque
....
Now I know how to do it by myself (super easy If you have ramps)
Worth it, just ask, who knows....

Is the ZL1 same as the video above?...and I did just invest in race ramps, so I am hoping this works out for me

If you got charged for 3qts I hope you got a quart of fluid back, it barely takes over 2qts to fill up the rear diff.

I actually noticed that after the fact and the dealer corrected it to two quarts. Ended up being something like $80.

Does anyone have the service manual or step-by-step for performing this?
