Do all Chevy dealers suck?
So I have been dealing with the dealership I bought the car from to get a few warranty things taken care of as well as had to get body work done by then because of some Ahole. The experience from the get gob has been horrible. They don't want to do work when I clearing show them the problem and then constantly lie to me about timelines. I picked my car up after needing body work yesterday and they are rushing to clean it and get it to me of course a body shop doesn't even know how to clean a car and they are using dirty rags to clean the car. I get home and see scratches I know weren't there. Not just in the outside but on the interior as well even in the very areas where the body work was done! At this point in scared to bring it back because I think they will damage the car more!!! Come to the conclusion that my next car will not be a Chevy.

They damaged your car and need to repair it.

Chevy, Ford, Dodge and any other random dealer suck for the most part. They don't pay well (unless you're a manager of some sort) and work their employees long hours.
They don't give 2 shits about you, or your car. Sure there are some exceptions to this, I've had good but mostly bad experiences with dealers of multiple brands. Just don't get your hopes up that they are actually concerned about your satisfaction. At best be presently surprised if they actually take care of you and your vehicle. There are some good people that work at dealerships that actually care about their job and taking care of customers. It's just a shame it's few and far between. |

Have to say it isn't just a chevy thing. Just find a new dealership. I had to here as well.

Haha. I never bring my cars to the dealership unless it's something really serious like a potential engine replacement under warranty.
I just suck it up and go to my trusted independent shops, giving them the TSB or appropriate documentation. |

I would be furious. They would be afraid when I came back in there, I would probably go to jail. They damaged your property, there is no excuse for that.

Before this I did the same but buying a newer car I thought what the hell so I went with the dealer to take car of warranty work. Lesson learned. I'm going to make multiple complaints with Chevy customer service. |

In my anecdotal experience, I have had significantly more shady and old-school style dealership experiences with domestic dealers than I have had with imports. Primarily in sales, however. Hell, I couldn't find a dealer locally that wasn't either 1) mind numbingly ignorant, or 2) slimy as hell, when I went to find the Camaro I own now. I ended up buying from Becky .
I *did* have a dealer scratch my Subaru STI during an extended service visit, but (like always) they bent over backwards to get it worked out to my satisfaction. I don't really know why the Chevy dealers seem so bad, but there you go. It's an opportunity for people like Becky to come along and offer (no offense Becky ) what I consider should be normal amounts of customer service for someone dropping 40 or 50 large on a car. |

- They don't let you watch - Their priority is volume rather than quality - No matter how shitty they are, they will always have some customers by default. So you are just a number to them. - The techs work on allotted hours out of a book. These times are frequently optimistic. So if a tech needs 4 hours to complete a 2 hour rated job, he is not going to be paid for the extra two hours. End result he will just rush everything instead of taking his time. Compounding the issue is that base-level Chevrolet techs are likely not paid very well, leading to attitudes like what you get at Walmart. Meanwhile at my independent shop I can go into the shop, watch everything, and talk with the mechanic. I can also give a suggestion or correction (making sure not to come off as arrogant). And because they work off repeat business and long-time customers, they can take the time to do the job properly. Body shops are less personal but you should still easily be able to find one better than a dealer if you look around. |
