Thats cool, just hate when people throw out the whole Carfax is a gimmick thing or Carfax sucks because it didn't have X reported (not saying you did, but you replied to my original post).

Arming yourself with as much knowledge as possible is never a bad thing.

not 100% but I think carfax is reported by insurance co and the other source (I know about it but not the name remember i'm the tech so I guess it's a sales dept secret) gets body shop report or invoice, but I have seen these reports on repair orders before. so I guess if your ever in that spot just simply ask for any other documentation

Exactly, get as much info as you can, be it carfax, autocheck, dealer information what ever.
