roto fab dry and car feels slower?

just installed the roto fab dry....

and mishimoto catch can... at the same time

it feels to me like the car is slower less mid range.....
definitely doesn't feel as strong as stock....

now i only have 450 miles on car and am still breaking it in so i cant and haven't really flogged it.... but it doesn't feel the same ....

I did not disconnect battery ..... but i also installed with out disconnecting maf sensor

is this normal... will it learn the cai and get better.... i have onl;y driven it around the neighborhood because of all the crap on the roads and snow melting...

Not my experience. You won't see any difference by changing the air filter - good or bad.

Why would you add a performance mod before finishing the break in? The engine is in its delicate stage of setting the rings and seats but now you risked altering the af ratio. I'm all for performance but I'd recommend leaving it stock for break in as designed.

Yeah, I have to agree. On both my 2016 SS A8 and now my 2018 1LE, they both had the RotoFab Dry CAI and an axle back—it felt exactly the same as stock.

i understand about break in but I'm not sure how adding a cai would wreck the break in...

I'm still sticking to the parameters... 4k and under till 500 miles and under 80 mph
after 500 i will slowly increase my rpms while still keeping it under 80
at 1500 i will be doing diff fluid and engine oil

any how
i disconnected the battery for 2 hors last night and this morning car does feel better i need a little more time ....

No a CAI is not going to effect break-in. Aside from that you are not even running the engine hard enough to realize the Rotofab benefits being most of the gains are above 4k RPM.

It might take a day or two for the computer to adjust. When I had my 11 Camaro I changed my exhaust. That day driving it just seemed to have less response. The next day it was like a different car.

Just a cai will not do much. Especially from the butt dyno.

i only say it can cause the engine to run a bit leaner then designed due to the higher air flow. Nothing detrimental.

My dyno run says different and my car is faster. After the headers & green Hf cats were installed I gained 45Hp and 33Tq to the wheels I can tell the difference but only gained minimumly with only CAI

Anyone on here that can tell the difference between stock and a stock + intake has a REALLY SENSITIVE butt dyno.

If you're truly feeling a significant difference then I'd make sure you don't have any air leaks downstream of the airflow sensor. This could be throwing off your air/fuel ratio. I'd also consider if the sound change is messing with your head. Does it still have the sound tube intact?
