Bye, bye Ranchero

After twenty years of ownership of this (as I frequently heard) "nice El Camino," I finally said goodbye to my '74 Ranchero today. Had years of fun with the car after I got it, including daily-driver use in the mid 2000's. However, since 2012 it seemed like I was fixing it more than I was driving it. Obviously I debated a bit over getting rid of it (since that took 12 years, right?) The Ranchero even did some parts hauling duty as part of my sixth gen de-fresh project.

Occasional Craigslist postings over the past couple years only got a few serious bites, but the Ranchero finally sold through the Facebook marketplace - from a listing posted more than six months ago. Hasta la vista to that rumbling 460!

My '73 Maverick is now the last 60's-70's "project" car left in the stable...

Sweet looking El Camino!

Sorry, had to. ...it's tough to know when to let go of things that hold some sentiment. Hope you got a fair price.

I've always been a GM guy but those Rancheros always were and always will be cool in my book. Too bad you had to let it go.

Nice looking Ranchero. I would have kept it.
