The only reason they would not put the LT1 in it is if the Camaro had the same weight/performance as the Vette, which wont be the case. IMO, they can't put a lesser version of the LT1 in the Camaro because it would get crushed by the new Mustang, if ever Ford upgrade a bit their Coyote engine (440hp is my guess).

Head flow numbers etc. It's tough to compare a smaller displacement 4 cam motor against a larger displacement pushrod and claim who is more efficient, but both are getting damn good performance figures in stock form and aftermarket mod for mod.
Ummm, who cares what motor is more efficient? What maters is HP, TQ, power under the curve, motor exterior size, weight, mpg. The new LT1 kills the 5.0 Coyote in this regard and I will bet it will be about 10HP/30TQ more than the next Coyote. Even if it was a measly 1HP and 1TQ yet had a fatter torque curve, same engine weight, smaller engine physically, and same mpg it would still be better. The power per displacement argument is RICER. At the end the better motor is the one that makes more overall power, is more reliable, is smaller physically, weighs less and gets good mpg. It wouldn't matter if you were comparing a 10.0 vs a 5.0. If the 10.0 does all those things better than the 5.0 then its the better motor PERIOD.
