I think it’s a good comparison when a 60k car runs neck and neck with a ridiculously overpriced one.

except that ridiculous overpriced one is just going to go up in value while the ZL1 will go down.

Thanks, I wasnt certain if something had already been posted. I just did a quick scan down the thread list and didnt see anything, so I wanted to get it out there. Also, Mods can delete if feel necessary, as it seems redundant.

I love my ZL1, but let's not kid ourselves... A driver mod would have the GT leaving the ZL1 for dead. I do not say this to take ANYTHING away from the ZL1 or the driver as he was hustling it, but as has been said above they are simply two different cars in two different classes.

What I will say about the ZL1 is that for someone of some means, well, they do not necessarily have to be as worried about dinging it as compared to that GT! While I certainly cannot afford to be flippant about what we paid for our cars if you think about it, the ZL1 represents a great way to be capable of driving fast without worrying about breaking the bank (for some) should you make a mistake. If I were driving the GT then I too would be somewhat hesitant about pushing the limits out of fear of putting it off course.

Either way props to the driver in the ZL1, he was getting it and made her look reeaaal good!

Anybody that has one of the new GT's isn't gonna have their bank broken by crashing it. I'm pretty sure of that.

In the corners where the ZL1 is staying right with the GT I would say that's all down to the driver of course. What impresses me about this is how little the GT is able to pull away from the Z on the straights! Either that guy isn't pushing hard on the straights or the GT just isn't much quicker than the Z in a straight line, which it should be considering it's vast power to weight advantage!

I'd be at least a little embarrassed if I couldn't shake a 70K Camaro in my 500K Ford. I could only imagine what the new ZR1 would even do to a Ford GT.

I have a 1LE ordered (at least I think so), and do not see how a GT would not completely eat the 1LE's lunch.

The GT has 630 HP and 539 Torque, so it won't pull the ZL1 in the straights.
* I take that back, it will most certainly pull the ZL1 easily on the straights, it weighs 900#'s less!

I have to disagree - the FGT was pulling away fairly easily in the straights - just go back and watch those parts again. The FGT gets smaller in the camera fairly quickly.

This is no way a slam on the ZL1 in any way and the driver was doing a fantastic job with it. It's just the FGT - at about 6-7 times the cost! - was doing what it should be doing and with a better more aggressive driver in it, it probably would not have been as close as it was in the corners.

But - it did in the video.
