Does anyone know what the bad blood between the journalist and GM is? He mentioned that Jalopnik wrote about the C7 early, is that it? What's the backstory?

apparently they published some data on the new camaro 1 day early... oh noes!

didn't they have like the C7 front fascia CAD data they got on the supplier's website? that was funny.

Not to seem overly soft on this but he was obviously very remorseful and seemed genuinely sorry. I see what others are saying but from another perspective he got to test drive the mule Camaro and seemed to be having a lot of fun. Trying to keep pace with a Z/28 in a V6 Camaro is possibly positioning yourself for driving farther then your talent can take you.

If he had been all "screw you GM" then I would agree but I'd cut him some slack since crap happens. I race a fair amount and I've almost stuffed my Z into a ditch or two when it got away from me. Sh!t happens and unless you've never made a mistake it's hard to beat this guy up too much. JMHO...

Because despite they're the automotive equal of TMZ people unfortunately listen to what they have to say

In the article the guy mentioned GM had a beef with him. Is it over the C7? I don't know any of the backstory. What's the deal between the two?

If you can't drive and talk to a GoPro, then don't drive and talk to a GoPro. He's an idiot and he probably shouldn't have been invited anyway. Jalopnik seems to hate American cars.

well, this article with leaked information that was put out by Jalopnik a day before the reveal might have something to do with it.... http://jalopnik.com/leaked-memo-answ...s-a-1704765341

I can't believe GM even invited them out there. I'm sure they had their reasons but damn.

These guys are second rate reporters anyway.. WoW

it was a mule (beta) test car for track... it's not like he went out and bought it and crashed his own car... nothing to be proud of...

Whatever, Jalopnik is still one of my all-time favorite sites. You do realize he damaged a mule that's destined for a crusher in a few weeks' time, right? Who cares.

On the webpage, he says GM paid his way there and covered expenses.

Quoted from article -
"(Full disclosure: General Motors wanted me to drive a 2016 Camaro engineering vehicle so badly they flew me to Detroit, put me in a room at the Westin Book Cadillac, and paid for all my food and booze. I’m also starting to think I should just avoid Camaros in general from now on.)"

I agree with you totally....he should have never pushed it hard enough to wreck it, but I really do feel bad for him.
