Ya, actually I like the new Boss 302 as well, just making it my wife's fault so I didn't get flamed...

Assuming it is NOT a ZL1 (since that's already unveiled) and assuming these ARE new pictures...
Testing for new portions of the standard models (LS/LT/SS). If you remember, we were told that for 2012 there was the possibility of a new engine (not sure if that is completely true or debunked, but I heard it and have heard nothing contrary). We also know the ZL1 has a different rear bumper/diffuser than the normal models. We also know the ZL1 has the specific front fascia, but this car clearly has the front end of a normal model (I can't tell, but it's obviously an LS/LT or maybe SS, I can't see clearly enough). Put those together and you get: They may be testing a/the 2012 normal model(s) (LS/LT/SS) with an/the upgraded engine(s) and a/the new bumper/diffuser and optional wheels. My reasoning? They already unveiled the ZL1. I've heard new engines might be coming for the V6. They said there would be a slightly different interior (which I believe is the same as the ZL1's minus the suede stuff), so it's easily possible they use the diffuser as well. The model shown clearly is an LS/LT (maybe SS, I can't see clearly), which suggests testing something for that model possibly. Thoughts? |

Just one: This isn't a "reveal"...it's just testing, and when they did reveal the ZL1, they let us know testing was still ongoing...and since this car wears the ZL1s wheels......

There's just one thing to keep in mind above all else whenever a car wears camo...
You can never assume anything about appearances. Some of the first Camaro mules had V6 brakes, SS fascia (without the mailslot...), and all other manner of inaccurate parts and pieces...I'm totally guessing, but I imagine that's where they got the "mule" nickname from. |

Probably no different than the ABM test mule from a while back. It happened to just be the color of the car they were setting up the ZL1 parts, not that the car would actually be offered in the color. I do think Synergy Green would be a good color for the car though.
